With stiff competition in Calgary’s nightlife scene, GRETA Bar sought to hit the market strong and quickly establish a rabid and loyal fanbase, both online and in-person. The company wished to solidify the GRETA brand as a leader in social media marketing and reached out to Curiocity to make it happen.

Curiocity functioned as GRETA’s full-service marketing and PR agency in the months leading up to and following the venue’s grand opening. We executed a strategic, phased marketing approach which included everything from the preparation of the photo and video assets, ongoing social media management, influencer outreach, and management, event planning and day of execution, securing earned and paid media opportunities, and everything in between.

Strategy

Our goal was to ensure GRETA was seen and heard all over the city, both on and offscreen, well before the venue’s actual opening. Our integrated and hands-on approach with every element of GRETA’s marketing efforts allowed us to position the brand in a way we knew would initially generate conversation online and translate into in-person transactions.

Results

Curiocity firmly set the foundation for GRETA’s newly launched brand and solidified the venue as being the most anticipated local opening of the year. Our consistent communication of the GRETA brand and frequent contesting enabled us to grow its following from a couple hundred to nearly 10,000 within three months. Following its incredibly strong grand opening and well-established social media account, GRETA continues to be a leader in the bar and nightlife industry in Calgary.
